Are you just wrapping the ridge pole with your suspension webbing and clipping it onto itself via carbiner? Looks like it holds OK?

That is a sweet setup. I saw that it weighs approx. 40lbs, how long does it take to setup?
Open the three pole assy, insert extensions for each tripod, put 4 poles together, wrap the amsteel around the ridgeline pole and hang the hammock.
Put the "tree strap" through a short piece of bicycle inner tube (clean the talc out of the inside first) to make it non-slip on the ridgepole. If you don't have an old leaky tube around, go buy one.
I don't like using a dutch clip as shown here for this application (love them on the trees though)...IMG_3099 (Medium).JPG
I prefer to just use the loop on the end as shown here on a ~1" stainless steel ridgepole...IMG_2344 (Medium).JPG...yeah, I know...the photo sucks.
The rubber holds extremely well.
