Yesterday, bought 28 poles from the ebay seller you linked ( couple extra ).

Expecting to follow your instructions and make three tripods for two hammocks.
Does there appear to be any problem with two hammocks and one person taller and heavier ?
    Any thoughts anyone ?

Another thought...Get two more poles and you can Make Mustardmans Hammock stand:

    Suspension Connection?

Are you just wrapping the ridge pole with your suspension webbing and clipping it onto itself via carbiner? Looks like it holds OK?

Yeah, but it was slipping when I just did a standard wrap and clip and put pressure on the whoopie, so I wrapped and then went around the webbing to the hammock and back around the opposite direction to lock it in. I don't know if you can see it though.
    Hope that makes sense.

not sure I follow you exactly.... I was thinking about adding an eyebolt to the ridge pole for a connection point to tripod above, and a place to wrap hammock suspension webbing to... bad idea?

Sounds like a winner, I will likely follow, at first I wanted any pole to be there, but since I take them all out of the bag, it doesn't matter, I will likely follow you and put an eyebolt in there, that way it will keep the strap from sliding.

Wooden V-blocks and clamps could be used.

AND a 17/64 bit works perfect, but is not standard in most drill bit kits and I thought I would buy a new one at Home depot just to have another. Couldn't find one, at least at my HD...so just a heads up!

That is a sweet setup. I saw that it weighs approx. 40lbs, how long does it take to setup?

Thanks.. A combined effort from everyone here...I don't know, about 10 minutes from Bag to hammock.. If pressured or competitive, I bet I could do it in five.

Open the three pole assy, insert extensions for each tripod, put 4 poles together, wrap the amsteel around the ridgeline pole and hang the hammock.

My advise...don't. Keep them all interchangeable.

Put the "tree strap" through a short piece of bicycle inner tube (clean the talc out of the inside first) to make it non-slip on the ridgepole. If you don't have an old leaky tube around, go buy one.

I don't like using a dutch clip as shown here for this application (love them on the trees though)...IMG_3099 (Medium).JPG

I prefer to just use the loop on the end as shown here on a ~1" stainless steel ridgepole...IMG_2344 (Medium).JPG...yeah, I know...the photo sucks.

    The rubber holds extremely well.

5 minutes tops once you've done it a few times.
