The Alamosa Stand is the compact version with well thought out stakes.

Health and weather is better, time to start getting my parts and thoughts together.

My project is a big one. 3 hammocks off a central column. One 20foot diameter shade umbrella over them.

I'll do the one hammock off 2 tripods like I initially said.

I'm waiting on delivery of the 3 point suspension hardware seen in the one photo. It's adjustable.

I'm recovering from a cohclear implant so I'm limited to the amount of bending over and exertion.Dizziness abounds

    Height and stability?

What are the angles as sold currently? Therefore making the top of the tripod at approximately what height? Just trying to figure out how stable this would be in "free standing mode" with a vertical pipe in the middle about 6 feet tall, to not need any guy lines and ground stakes.
I had also considered a "5th wheeler tripod" stand as sold by RV supply stores, Northern Tools, Amazon etc. This would be a very similar solution, but not as simple to mount the center post.

I suppose that the spread of the pyramid base for tree equilateral triangle sides will determine the height.

Handy calculator to play with to determine what will work best for your requirements...

    Height estimate

Total height difference of about 15" depending on 15° difference if each leg was 2 X 4 foot pipe legs (3 legs per tripod):

Equilateral or 60° angles: 8'Xsin60°=6.92 feet

45° at base and from vertical: 8'Xsin45°=5.66 feet

if only one section of pipe was used per tripod leg segment then just divide by 2, IMO this would be unstable and require guy lines and stakes.

    Tripod Stand Accessories

What we have here is an option for tube plugs for the feet of your stands.

    In addition...
Guy Rings for the aluminum or fiberglass mast sections: Each guy ring is laser-cut to our specifications and is 3.5 inch OD, 1.6 inch ID, and 0.125 inch thick aluminum. We now provide them painted olive drab to match the mast sections, or natural aluminum. This is strong high-quality 6061-T6 aluminum.

These might be an option for some who want to add spread limiters without any drilling.

I do not have one of these units to measure, however working the math seems to indicate a 21-degree angle to be about right for 8-foot sides and a 5-foot base. That leaves a 69-degree on the base legs to ground. With that 5-foot base distance between legs, it gives a 7.6-feet height. Should be plenty strong and tall enough for various ridge line tarp configurations I suppose.
