I just got myself my 3rd hammock, 2nd tarp, 1st under quilt (that was not DIY) and a rather expensive sleeping bag that is a monster in size.

Then I decided the suspension for the hammock was probably not so good, so back online to order whoopie slings from ebay. Then I dropped by another website and found a set with tree huggers, carbine hooks and whoopie slings as a set, and ordered that too.

When i all arrived I decided hauling all of that in a back pack was out of the question, so I got myself a pulk, and ordered a surplus rigid army trace for it.

Saw shugs videos and decided that a snake skin for my tarp would be a good idea, and ordered one. When that arrived I quickly realised that it was to short for my 4,5 meter long tarp, so I needed another. So I ordered that, and paid for shipping. The day after that was hipped I though "why not try the snake skin I allready recieved on my hammock. It was a perfect fit. So I needed another snake skin...

Now I am busy looking at 80-100 litre rucksacks, summer sleeping bags, gore-tex jackets, etc.

My wife grew up in SE Asia, itę's winter and snow outside, and I buy all of this kit to go outside to sleep, when we have a perfectly good, heated house and a bed with her in it...yup she thinks her husband is completely Ting-tong bah-bah boh-boh....

Mrs. Moment is still concerned that I bought sleeping bag with the bottom missing. I tried to soothe her angst by buying a 15* Marmot Pinnacle from a member here, but she's still not soothed. What's a guy to do

My hammock purchases have been have been pretty straightforward in that I only have one each of hammy, TQ, UQ, suspension, etc. Stoves and sharps have been a whole other story: "Oooh, shiny, want."

Easy!!!! I read a thread a while back, him and his buddy both got together and placed an order from HG for full sets... Tarp hammock top and bottom quilts and suspension goodies... That should be well over the $1000 mark if not on the way to $2000...

I wonder if the vendors would mind spilling their biggest orders ever, no names or contents just numbers...

It's entirely normal to have more hammocks than you can use in a season, a plethora of quilts to choose from, a variety of tarps and multiple suspension options for all of the above. I have never questioned my sanity, nor the sanity of anyone else pursuing the happiness of hammocking -- my wife, the mailman, the FedEx and UPS delivery people on the other hand...
