    Newbie Tarp ???????????

I need info please. I'm looking for a trap that will NOT break the bank. I must cover a skeet beeter pro, wb blackbird. If I could find the right trees, would be nice to cover both at the same time. Don't want the kids getting wet. I don't want a wally word plastic trap.

    thanks

    Re: Newbie Trap ???????????

What's your budget... Covering two hammocks at once takes a pretty good sized tarp... Maybe two tadpoles from wilderness logics would get you better covered...

If you want a great budget tarp, consider the camo tarp from Rural King. Its relatively lightweight and you can't beat the price.

You are going to want more than an 8x10 to try to cover two hammocks. That would be marginal for 1.
    YMMV

For the best money/size ratio I would suggest a 12 foot Kelty Noah's Tarp: http://www.austinkayak.com/products/...r-12-x-12.html

I used the winter tarp pattern to make a prototype tarp to see if I could do it before buying the material for it and too make sure it was going to be the size I needed. I bought two of the 2 mil plastic painters drop cloths from Lowes for $3 per drop cloth and used a few strips of gorrila tape for the ridge to seam them together. and used gorilla tape to beef up the tie out points and make the pullouts with. I planned to use it 1 night just to make sure its what I wanted and I have since used it about 15 nights. It has held up great. I just use it for car camping because of the weight about 3 pounds but it would be a cheap alternative if you would like to try a DIY project. It is a huge tarp and I have used it in snow, rain, wind and it has held up very well believe it or not

is this for car camping or will you need something lightweight and less bulky to backpack with the tarp?
