DOH! We just planned a Car Camping trip for the scout troop on that weekend. We had the choice of March 15-16 or 22-23 and the latter was chosen. I wish I could meet up and "hang" with you guys. It would have been great to meet some of the members of this site. Enjoy the Gorge I'll be in frankie-furt at the EEC that weekend.

I'm in! Thanks Home Run for getting this together. As you already know I've wanted to go there for a while now. I'm really looking forward to it!

I'm sure we'll be back to the Gorge again this Spring. I'll be sure to post something. Have fun with the boys. Good man Charlie Brown for helping those young men appreciate the outdoors.

That would be, aptly named, Indian Arch. We were there this past weekend, did the circuit via the Indian Staircase Bypass Trail. Too chicken to go up the Indian Staircase anymore

This arch is not far from Indian Arch, it is not as big but I love the way it rises up toward that beautiful blue sky. It is Adena Arch, named after the local Adena Tribe.

Great picture. I love how you captured that rising perspective.

Thanks for the pic, Scooter. Let's hope we get some of that blue sky you captured in the shot!

    From the Bison Way Trailhead:

    If going up the Stairway....
Take the Bison Way Trail until you come to an intersection with the Sheltowee.
Turn left on the Sheltowee. Follow for a short way and turn right at the cutoff that leads to the Stairway. (unofficial but very well traveled.)

If not going up the Stairway....
same as above only don't take the cutoff. Keep going on the Sheltowee, follow it around until you come to the Indian Arch at the top of the set of wooden steps. (Now on the ridge top, look across and you'll see the Stairway.) Notice the horseshoe shaped cliff rim...you'll be making your way around it to the Stairway. It's an unofficial trail, but not difficult.

Those are the 2 main ways.
