I live about 45 min away from the Gorge and have been eying Indian Staircase all winter! I would love to go if it works out, especially to 'hang' with fellow hangers.
    Nice Marmot!

You are correct. It's on the Sheltowee Trail near Rooster Point. Camped by it one night a couple Decembers ago when a big wind storm came along. After we got back to Slade, we were told the winds reached 80 MPH! It was SO loud!

Hope you can join us Coolhandluke. The Stairway is definitely a special place. It'll take your breath away going up it, the views are great....especially before the leaves are on the trees.

I hope you dont mind a generally inexperienced hanger coming along. Im an experienced backpacker but Ive only been hammock camping for about 6 months, and just moved out of my Target burlap hammock. Nevertheless, Im excited to not only meet other hangers but pick some brains as well!

We'd all look forward to meeting you. You'll have the opportunity to check out a lot of rigs. Everyone's always happy to help. Let's face it...we love gear and talking about it!

I may just do a quick day hike Saturday to check in. I won't be overnighting it.
