A little while ago qpens said he was working on scheduling MAHHA for this spring. That's held in Maryland, in the Gathland State Park, about 10 miles from Harper's Ferry, and on the AT.

I was there for the spring '08 and enjoyed it a lot. Style-wise it resembles the last Mt. Rogers hang, in that lots of people come together, some to learn. A community event Saturday evening, with people heading off to do various things on Saturday afternoon, or just hang around and chat.

I'll go to this again if I can; I'd like to work in a hike-in or hike-out (or both), e.g. from Harper's Ferry, it's pretty tame hiking terrain. So I'll be looking out for qpen's announcement...

I'm looking at a Red River Gorge hang in late April/Early May.

    Red River Gorge

That looks like a good one HC4U. It looks like a beautiful area that is not as far away from central Ohio.

How is the Daniel Boone / RRG for hiking/camping/fishing? I've always wanted to go there.

Only 8 1/2 hours driving time.

    Rrg

heck yes, I'd go to the Red River Gorge again, if possible schedule-wise.

Smithobx and Darby also fish I believe.
Why catch and release when I can watch Stormcrow "flounder" around fixing my dinner? I'll be nice and let him make some dehydrated chili, instead.

Anyway, a lot of places everyone suggested sounded great, but I don't know my way around most of them, yet. I've only gone to Conneaut to fish, so I'll sit back and let you all decide, then I'll tag along!

Would kids be allowed at RRG? I've got one or two that would likely like to come with me.

Kids are more than welcome. I am planning on hosting this one at Indian Staircase. There is an adventurous way to get to the camp sites, requiring a bit of rock climbing, or an alternative way using the trail system. There are a couple of spots enroute with drop offs but the area where we would be camping is safe.

If I can fit it in schedule-wise, you know I'm on that one.
