whoopie slings
They're light, easy, and strong.

I prefer webbing over whoopie slings as I know many others do.
Warbonnet has changed to this type of cinch buckle.
You can also use OnRope buckles, Dutch also sells them, AHE also carries buckles similar to Warbonnet.
You can also use SMC descending rings.
In short, there are options out there for you.
Not sure when the change was made, but I've had my WBBB for about a year and it came with the new ones.
You can always buy a new set of the buckles from Brandon for $10:

Or the Dutch version:

I have whoopie slings and I do like them. I also like the quick easy adjustment of the strap suspension. Since this hammock already has the strap suspension I want to give it a try before I switch it out. I also like the idiot proofness of the webbing. I have been on the ground because of both suspensions, operator error in both cases.

I had the same ones from your orignal post and they slipped on me once becaue I had the webbing in them the wrong way. There is actually a correct way to thread the webbing. If you feed it one way there is less bite on the webbing. You can see what I mean if you look at it from the side. Putting it through in the opposite direction, the webbing is gripped better with more agressive angles on the webbing. I would still use a back up hitch but they have never slipped since I discovered the better way to feed the webbing. Having said all that, my prefered buckles are the cinch buckles Dutch sell. They are easy to adjust yet hold well enough to not require a back up hitch.

You wouldn't happen to have a picture of how you have it fed through. I think I have it in there correctly. I am at work and can't look now but I will after work.

I don't have a picture but if you look at the slider, its thicker on one side. If you feed the webbing from the opposite, when it goes up and over the thicker part of the slider and back out the buckle, there is more grip. Look at the slider as if you were looking at a cross section of it and you can see what I'm talking about. Sorry its hard to describe but post back after you have a look at it.

.Warbonnet has changed to this type of cinch buckle
That is the style that was on the BBs I bought in 2010
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
I had the old buckles with my WBBB. They kind of bent out of shape and I wasn't sure I'd trust them anymore. The new ones look pretty good. I now use what is called a ring buckle system, it's just two aluminum rings at each end in which I thread the 1" wide straps through. Been using them for years (I think I started in 2001) without problems.
