    I hate mosquitoes!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you can tell being from South Florida I have had a verrry long, special history with mosquitoes. My question is; Will the mosquitoes bite me through my hammock? I am a new hanger with a HH EX Deluxe. It is only single walled. Any past experiences or tips if the do. Did I mention I hate Mosquitoes!!!!!!!!!

yes i have been bit through it several times... look up something called Permithrin... it is a bug spray that is special for clothing... do EVERYTHING you wear outside and you will find your need of DEET greatly reduced... it is good for a few washes and quite a while if it's something that doesn't get washed much, like your hammock... quite a few threads on it around here and any other outdoor forum...

+1 on what Brute said. I can assure you the little buggers will eat you up through a single layer in VA so I don't see why Fl would be any different.

I hate mosquitoes myself. Wish i could have star war laser guns set up around my hammock like they did on the deathstar. if you dont want to put permethrin on your hammock you can get a bugnet. Where you already have a top net if you go to walmart for 7.95 you can get a sheer curtain and hang that on the bottom side. it already has channels sewn in it on the top and bottom. Just dont spray DEET on your hammock. it can cause damage.

If you want luxury nx-250 will stop them https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...lies/laugh.gif. If your using a underquilt or pad will help but depending what you use doesnt always cover your shoulders. Double layer hammocks can help as well.

Permethrin is one of the safest pesticides around (deadly to fish and cats, but I assume you are neither). If you truly hate mosquitoes, you'll probably come around to the use of it.

Up here in the Northeast, mosquitoes are bad, but ticks are worse. Permethrin is about the only way to protect oneself from them. Much as I dislike pesticides, I dislike Lyme disease more.

Yeah, what he said!!! Soak that hammock and you won't be sorry. Plus it will last a long time.
