    Hammock Trail Journal

Anyone have suggestions for AT trail journals (On Trail Journals site) written by folks that mostly hammock camped on thru hikes?

    Secondary interest: PCT hammock hangers?

Not too familiar with it, but you could check the long distance section of this site... I believe a lot of people post links to their trail journals there.

I enjoyed Beardo's journal ("Chop" on HF). He writes well. His PCT Journal is great, too, though I don't think he used a hammock there.

Member "Dutch" here (of Dutchware fame) has one here that is pure fun. He hung in a Hennessey for that hike, if memory serves.

Thanks for the link to Dutch's trail journal. The entry for April 20 is priceless.

My journal from 2011. Southbound. I knew of Beardoh from another hiker I hiked with who hiked with him for some time. He had a nice cuben set-up.

I read Certain's journals the winter before my own thru-hike, and really enjoyed them. She didn't hold anything back and was completely honest. She was so honest and open that I sometimes found myself feeling frustrated and wanting to yell at her, and other times just thrilled to be along for the adventure.

My writing is nothing compared to hers, but if you're interested the blog from my thru-hike can be found starting from here: http://www.allenf.com/at_thru-hike_2009.htm

Also try RichardD (here on the forum.) His trail name is Hot Drinks over on Trail Journals. He thru hiked with his Hennessy and I had the pleasure of spending a few miles with him. Enjoyed his journal all the way to Katahdin.
