Interest Check: Spring Red River Gorge Hang Out

I am looking at hosting a hang out at the Red River Gorge. This time I thought about maybe camping at Indian Staircase. There are 2 ways to get to the top of Indian Staircase. One way uses the existing trail system and the other way would include some rock climbing. Both ways lead to a multitude of beautiful campsite situated on top of a very scenic ridge. You are looking at 1.5 to 2 mile hike in to get to the campsites

There is also another potential location in the same area that is situated on the Red River. It's about a 3 mile hike in and includes a beach and a swimming in the river (weather permitting). Of course we could also hold the hang out at the same site used for the last few gatherings.

I voted for May. I'll be at Hot Springs in April, and need to build back up some brownie points between hangouts...

Wish I could, but I'm saving $$ and vacation time for a trip back east during TrailDays. I think I miss the smell.

dang! good catch. I was in the doghouse for a long time for choosing to run in my favorite 1/2 marathon that was scheduled one year on mother's day.

the doghouse is cold and lonely. Deal me out of that weekend

    seeing into the future...

I am with slowhike on that one. I can not really see where things are going to be that far ahead. I do know that I normally do TOSRV on Mother's day weekend but I could be persuaded to take a trip. Jenny likes camping/hiking/fishing better anyway. Hey that could be my mothers day present to HER! A trip! Anyway, I will definitely consider this one if there are not conflicts.
