    Great post!

We have had 1100 new members join in the last 90 days. I want to let you all know, the interest turns into a hobby, that turns into a passion, that turns into an obsession, that turns into an addiction. You will start creating PayPal accounts your spouse does not know about, perhaps get a a P.O. Box so they don't see all the boxes and envelopes arrive, then you buy a scale that and start buying newer, lighter stuff, then you get into DIY gear, lighter stoves, pots, packs, and before you know it, you are cutting chop sticks in half... YOU ARE DOOMED!

However, Hammock Forums is your confessional and the mods will forgive you.

P.S. I forgot to mention, the first step in knowing you are addicted...no matter where you are...having dinner with a splendid mountain view, at a soccer field in Birmingham, driving to work, walking the dog, sitting in traffic, looking out the window as your airplane approaches the runway...you will be looking for two trees to hang your hammock!

Hell, my hammock hasnt even shipped and I'm thinking of where I will first hang it. I dont know if youve ever been to North Dakota, but trees are few and far between. There's state land that opens up April 1 to campers/hunters. I don't know how to bring it up to my wife that I wanna go set up for the night without her thinking I need to be admitted :-p

I've been pretty good lately. Been too busy cutting up what I already bought to make something else out of it. You'll be amazed...

I've also thought eye bolts in the basement wouldn't hurt anything

New blood= a fresh perspective= new ideas= happy hammockers. I will not admit to addiction but I will admit to obsession.

This happened to me...I had just visited Neuschwanstein Castle, which is one of the most picturesque castles in Germany (this Disney castle is modeled after it) and the only thing I could think off on the way down from the castle was to pick out all the places that I could hang with my son in the woods surrounding the castle.

+1 on the hammock stand. It's really allowed me to quickly and easily test new gear and ideas. For example, my son was able to dial in his under quilt on our back patio so he wasn't trying to get it fitted correctly on our first night on the trail.

Good luck, but bottom line...it doesn't get any better.

    Sincerely,
    Dave-O
