    For the record

I have nothing to do with VersaShelter. I'm just worried that their KickStarter campaign will not succeed.

And I have not invested myself. I was hoping a lively conversation about the investing or not investing so that I could make my mind about it.

    Only 11 days to go...

For me personally, it has nothing to do with the product. I simply don't care for this business model. I feel this way about all Kickstarter type things, but I don't knock anyone for choosing to fund their business that way. I just don't pay until there is an actual product to buy. Then, I buy it as I would any other existing product. I prefer my consumerism old-fashioned in that way.

    I have had good experience

My stove is Biolite -> Kickstarter (I did not participate)

My hammock will probably be the Alpine Hammock -> Kickstarter (paid for two of them)

But I did understand that these VersaShelter hammocks are already available, so no risk there, and the only idea of this Kickstarter campaign is to get funds for proper small scale industrial level manufacturing to make them cheaper.

Maybe I got it wrong, I'm not a native english speaker.

I have no problem investing this kind of innovative stuff to get it out from the drawing board. Only problem I have about the VersaShelter is the complexity of the system. Many parts to fiddle with. But on the other hand the insulation system and the possibility to pack whole system to that 'bishop/snake skin' -bag both seem to be a very elegant ideas.

And I know, as probably many of you also know, it is very time consuming to make this kind of inventions. Testing takes also money. And I'm happy to pay someone else for both of those two things.

But as I said, I'm still pondering the facts. And at this point it does seem that even if I would participate the KickStarter will not succeed anyway.
