To upgrade or not to upgrade...

........that is my question. I'm considering getting the new river for my WLLO, and i'm not sure if I should get the apex upgrade, the winter upgrade, or none at all. I live in Wa, and will camp all year, but mostly all seasons except winter, and none of it will be hiking. I've got a Coleman -10*f bag as my TQ, and i'm a warm sleeper. So what should I do?

If your gonna do it, buy it today while its still half off for the upgrade. I've got the 3 season standard new river but haven't had a chance to test it yet into the 20s. If your not doing winter camping, you should be fine, especially with the rating on your TQ.

i had a lost river and got caught in low temps (dipped down to the 20's) and got cold... having that extra warmth when things drop a little lower than expected would be nice, plus if packability is important, APEX does pack smaller. I just ordered a jarbidge apex myself yesterday (20 degrees is my sweet spot for UQ's)

I have two Jarbidges, on in apex, one standard. There isn't a lot of difference as far as packability, but the apex is noticeably warmer. With the upgrade being half off, I would say go for it.

What about the winter upgrade? Can anyone vouch for it and say that it is really warm and worth it? packability isn't an issue, and warmth isn't add much since I have a good bag/TQ and good thermals.
