Yeah see the thing with Joann's is most of the time, you can get a better deal when it's NOT on sale, by using a 50% coupon (that you can't use when the item IS on sale).

I got hosed there one night picking up Insulfleece that was on sale, thus not allowing me to use a fat 60% off coupon....

Ask if it's on sale before they cut, because it might not be marked plainly.

    OP,
I really apologize if you know this already, but real-deal, HF endorsed 1.1 ripstop nylon $3.20 all day, every day at DIYGS
This is the olive stuff that you can see in almost every DIY thread here. Scott has probably sold a mile of this stuff. Sure it takes a few days and you have to pay a reasonable shipping charge, but no sales tax. DIYGS is a one-stop shop for most of my projects.

I feel kinda silly now…. Guess I shoulda looked around a little more before tossing that out there. I did not realize there were such better deals out there everyday. Good news is I will chalk this up to a learning experience and keep on hangin'!

Thanks for sharing the info and the lesson! Looks like I need to spend some time on DIYGS as well.

There is no more forgiving place as this forum. We all learn. When I started, I asked questions and mentioned things that when I look back , required the patience of many of those more experienced than me. That is part of what makes this community so great. Keep on sharing. We value that here.

We all have some Joann's and/or Hancock ripstop. We are politically correct and believe in diversity.

    Guilty.
I have some bright red, blue, and an awful gold color - all heavier than I would typically use even for stuff sacks. I use it as expensive mock up material - you should see the pair of too-tight gold rain pants I made while working out the pattern sizing - ouch (NO pictures available).

All questions/thoughts are good here - hope you continue to ask/speak away.

I have some silver that's almost translucent in color... I love it for stuff sacks...
