Memorial Day Weekend 2013 Plans?

With the extra long weekend nearing for many, I thought it would be fun to share what hammock related plans you may have - be it DIY, trips, whatever!

So, what are you planning to use your hammocks for this weekend??

I'm planning on heading up to the northern MI for a few days in the woods with my family and nieces. I'm hoping to actually get some time in with my new TQ

If time permits, I want to slap some stain on my TD stand as well and maybe finish that half complete UQ project I have going on...

After my son's high school graduation here on Sat, we're heading up to PA to spend the Memorial Day holiday with the extended family, including a family reunion at gorgeous Raystown Lake. Can't say I've hung at Raystown yet, so that's my goal . . .

Then of course, if we run out of beds at the inlaws' house, I've always got my stuff with me and can go enjoy the peace & quiet of the trees!

We're headed to the cabin for the entire weekend. The only thing we have planned to do up there is go on a super early pre-hunting season scouting hike, begin lite construction on a blind (possibly), have a picnic, and return to the cabin.

I may also make an Indian fish trap at our pond just to see how it works.
(For those that care, the fish won't be harmed and will never leave the water.........For those that don't care "YEAH! Trapping Fish Is Awesome!")

Other than that, I'll just be hangin' with the family miles and miles away from cell phone coverage, computers, office chairs, whiny co-workers, and video games.

Sigh.....I can't wait.

Backpacking on North Manitou Island in Lake Michigan. Leaving Sunday morning for the 8 mile boat ride to the Island. I will be getting picked back up on Friday morning if the weather is good, otherwise not again until Sunday. North Manitou Island is just off the coast of Sleeping Bear Dunes.

I'm taking the family to Red River Gorge this weekend. Only going to be a short over-niter. We will be camping about 1 mile from the car/trail head considering our youngest is only 16 months. I will be taking the older three for a nice hike on Saturday while mamma and the two youngest stay at camp and have some crafty fun.

All of you are making me jealous (well kinda but not really) I mean while all of you are out having fun hanging in your hammocks, I will be locked up inside the house painting the nursery for my future twin boys who are going to be arriving sometime in August.

Sound like an awesome trip! Looks like the weekend weather could be iffy. Hope to get out there in early August. I'm heading up to the cottage with family for the long weekend. Bringing the gear and getting my summer hanging spot on the beach out front all set up.

Hiking the first leg of the Buffalo River Trail with a good friend of mine. He is still a T*#t camper, but I'm on a mission to change that. I'm dehydrating down some of Hungry Hammock Hanger's BBQ spaghetti right now. Should be ready this evening just in time for our trip on Saturday. Can't wait, we have been trying to make this trip for almost a year now! COME ON SATURDAY
