    Pics from QWS2013

Well we survived our first expo, was very stressful with the family crisis that was also going on but we got it done. GREAT show and another big thanks to Gargoyle for helping out. At time all three of us were in conversation with attendees. WBRR was a hit with lots of people, tarps, quilts all well received. People couldn't get over how light the gear was. We had a ARD (hydrophobic) down display, a 1.5L sealed container with water and down. People were quite surprised that the down was not wetted out, some even didn't believe it was down. I placed it in the water at 7 am and even after 8 hrs it was still floating with people picking it up turning it side to side. I gave it a good shake at the end of the show and it seemed to wet out but popped right to the surface of the water column. I just opened the container and the down is completely dry... I have a few additional demos for the down I'll be doing and posting videos in the next few weeks.

    Here are the pics...

Wooden boats have a special mystique. Seeing them always makes me want to paddle. By the way,Paul, is that the new ridge runner zepp on that Warbonnet?

Not yet, that's a REG UQ, fits well but gapping at side needs to be addressed in dedicated quilt which we should be prototyping this month. This seems to be a result of the hourglass cut of the hammock which BTW is a fantastic design. Well done WB...

Congrats on making it through the expo!
    Yeah, those boats... drool

I've seen the evidence of standard underquilts gapping at the sides of bridge hammocks. There's a problem waiting for a solution.

Your down demonstration is the first I've heard of anyone actually doing this. Until now, I figured it was 90%marketing hype and 10% performance enhancement. What is the weight penalty compared with 850 FP down or similar standard? This got my attention!

There is no weight penalty, 850 FP is 850 FP. Has a slightly different feel to the down which is expected but performance is impressive. I'd spoke to the process engineer in December and he told me the DWR treatment was exceeding their expectation as well and that I'd be pleased with its performance. I'd have to agree with him at this point, I have a test that I will be doing in next few weeks and posting a video for a real world event that you may experience backpacking or paddling.

Nice looking setup. That wolf inlay is amazing! That's awesome to hear about the down.
