WTB portable shower

These have been around forever. The one I have is 2 gal. Rarely use it but they work. You can found them anywhere... search for "solar shower" on amazon.

Had one for years....it lays at the bottom of the gear pile most every trip. It takes several hours of sunlight to get the water more than lukewarm. Dragging it along on a hiking trip is out (that bag is heavy). For car camping trips they're normally short enough that I can just tough it out for the weekend or there are facilities nearby.

Check Walmart. They have them cheap. ($12-?) They actually heat up pretty quick on a sunny day. At least they do here.

You can rely on solar, but if it's not enough, heat a small pot of water on your camp stove to boiling and add it to the water inside. It will raise the temperature to a very nice level for a shower. A 5 gallon size is usually enough to give two people a decent shower.

+ 1 on adding hot water, boiling hot water. Unless you are car camping, etc - they can be tricky, and required a lot direct sunlight. May be better off with sponge bathing unless a collapsable container with hot water.

I have one of these and it doubles as a stuff sack (invert the bag) for one or more of my quilts.

I don't bring it with me much, only when I know I will be base camping by a water source for more then a few days
