    Nice finished project!!
My Coccoon 250 has kept me warm to 38*F with a 20*F UQ.
Great 1st posting, and welcome to the Forum!
I've gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, make sure I stay here.

When I see lovers' names carved into a tree, I don't think it's cute. I think it's strange how so many people take knives on a date.

Wow. 42 pages of posts about a WallyWorld sleeping bag.

Just to keep it going, I spotted two Cocoon 250 bags (a Left and a Right) on the shelf at my local Walmart. They were both tagged and scanned at $79.99. But I had a gentle and reasonable discussion with a manager in which I mentioned this thread and people all across the country getting them for prices from $33 to $64.

I walked out with "two for the price of one", more or less. Two bags, a can of fresh tennis balls and a seam ripper for under $90.

    They're still out there.

    VERY nice score!!
The bags make for a very simple DIY TQ mod, at a price that's hard to beat!
    Great job:-)

I'm curious as to why people dont leave the footbox in? I like being able to kind of anchor my feet in there and letting the rest of the bag drape around like a blanket.

I've done the same... Ensures there's no draft around your feet!

Thanks guys glad to know im not crazy! im fairly certain im going to buy a bag now. The question is after i cut the hood off do i harvest the down to put back inside? or is it too much hassle for the added warmth it might provide...

For anyone considering the combo Walmart is currently offering with the Cocoon + Cot + Flashlight here:

The actual discounted prices for each item on the deal are as follows (in case you want to return the cot and flashlight):
    - Ozark Trail Instant Cot, Realtree Xtra 1 $44.72
    - Ozark Trail 6AA OT-500L Flashlight with Duracell Batteries 1 $19.16
    - Ozark Trail 0.44lb/32F Down Mummy Sleeping Bag 1 $51.12

So you should be able to get this bag for about $51 + tax or thereabouts just by returning the other things.

For those of you willing to push the envelope a bit more, here's my experience:
1). Buy the combo for $115 + tax
2). Return the cot + flashlight, but with no receipt for store credit. The cot is listed independently at $69.97 and the flashlight is $29.97. Total return in that case is for $99.94, making the cost of the bag about $20!
3). I got the Cocoon 200, so I drove to a Walmart that had the 250, bought it with my store credit and returned the 200 from the online deal for my store credit back.

    Notes from my experience:
    - Walmart has a policy for returning without receipts that allows up to 3 returns per person in 45 days (see here). You might need to reference it or try a different Walmart, it really depends who you get a bit.
    - Returns for items over $50 without a receipt need to be approved by a manager. The flashlight is no problem, and it might be helpful to return them separately.
    - Returns without a receipt cannot be made after 10 PM.
    - If you buy something with store credit and then return it, you can only do that if you have the store credit card with you, as your money goes back on the card.
    - They check your ID when you return without a receipt.
    - The Cocoon 200 and the Cocoon 250 have the same UPC code. They are the same product as far as Walmart is concerned and can be returned interchangeably.
    - Try this at your own risk!

Happy sleeping! Now to cannibalize an old down comforter.
