i actually sewed right next to each seam ..before.. seam ripping the zippers out (and sewed two stitch lines and cut between my stitches to remove the hood. Then I folded each edge over on the hood and sewed it).

Sewing first eliminated loss of the down.

Then after seam ripping, I sewed the edges where the zippers were again.
For example, see in my pic above with the seam ripper...just above my finger tip, you can see the black fabric, the zipper sits between this and a layer of blue fabric. I sewed these back together after zipper removal.

so.....yes, there was definitely sewing involved.

Walmart Ozark Trails Down Sleeping Bag

I ordered one online tonight for $70 and it comes with an inflatable pad. For that price how can you beat it. The only down side is it's back ordered a couple of weeks.

If you plan to modify it in to a TQ (not hard with access to a sewing machine)...then it will fit you.

Re: Walmart Ozark Trails Down Sleeping Bag

I find that weight hard to believe. My 750 fill western mountaineering weighed more. If weight is correct doubt temp rating is.

@gary24153 Weight is definitely accurate along with temp rating. With JRB 40 Nest UQ and using this as a TQ with long johns and wool socks at 28* it was adequate. Mind the temp rating is the MAX so in the 35-45 range this bag rocks. It would have been even warmer that night if used as a mummy bag as is intended. This was a trial hang just to purposely test this bag. It is worth the small investment!
