This looks excellent for my first down filled anything.
I don't own a single down item.
This would help replace my military sleep system that weighs a ton!
It would be supplemented by my poncho under/over quilt

Guess not.
Could have been an SNL skit, for sure.
Just picked up my bag, looks a little thin in down dept. Will try to throw it in the dryer, if not swap it at my local Walmart. Looks great for a summer bag regardless
I think this could be a reason for the "inconsistency" in fill people have noticed. I received mine in the mail today, held it up to the light, and there was almost no down in the top of the bag. But, there was down in the bottom, as others have mentioned.
I opened the bag and laid it down on a bed and was able to "sweep" the down with my hand from the bottom baffles to the top (they are continuous: see http://www.westernmountaineering.com...s&ContentId=13). I then had ~1.5" of loft on the top. There is more down on the torso than the lower legs.
This bag probably is adequate for a summer sleeping bag on the ground. For a TQ, it might not be as adequate because the down distributed evenly throughout the chambers for use as a TQ would probably have .5 - 1" loft. I think I'll order some down to add to the chambers.
Potential is nothing without hard work.
Agreed. I moved my down from the bottom to the top. This really seemed to make a differnce. Looks like it will be a hot weekend in Boulder so I will hopefully be camping and willbring this bag to see how it performs.
Does anyone know if there is a video review on this bag?? I'd be interested in seeing it
Man I missed one of those in the clearance isle, 20 bucks...snooze u loose
Not a video, but I put a few thoughts and pics up at BPL
