I am likely going to mod mine too :-)
Can you confirm whether the weight included the stuff sack or not?

HEY NOW!
That is the Suisse Sport Adventurer Mummy Ultra-Compactable Sleeping Bag on the left there isn't it?
(Yeah, I got lazy forgetful, so I copy and pasted the full name from amazon)
I have that same bag... and for what it is I have been pretty happy with it. I picked it up for $30 back when amazon sold it and its done a good job, even looks compact compared to other bags at that price/warmth.
Been watching this thread, thinking about this bag as a cheap way to cut a little bulk and a little weight from the synthetic bag. Bulk and weight benefits aside do you think you could compare the two, their quality, their insulating abilities, ect... Actual use, not packed performance? Wondering if I would be as happy with this bag as I have been with the Suisse... Funny to see what looks to be exactly the bag I have now sitting besides what I have been considering.
Sweet mod! The craziest thing happened to me yesterday! I was looking on this forum at this thread wishing I could come across one of these at my local walmart but sadly, they didnt carry it. BUT I went to a thrift store in my town to get a cheap locking belt for another project Im working on and lo and behold: an Ozark Trail Cocoon 200 on the shelf! I excitingly grab it and the desired belt and went for the counter. That $80 sleeping bag, I got for $2.50!
And yes, of course I opened it before to check for damage and/or dirtiness but it looked and smelled brand new!
Nice score!!
Amazing...
Sadly I have yet find such a sweet deal.
Great job!

Walmart probably needs to give Hammock Forums a cut of the profits from these bags! I, too, bought one. Fluffed it up w the tennis balls, took it out the next weekend. It rained and was a little chilly. I don't know what the temp was. I used a piece of CCF pad, no UQ and was comfy. I love this bag! It's tiny and light. I ordered mine from the web site for $69. Free shipping and came with a self inflating pad! The pad kinda sucks, but will be good as a car camping piece of gear.
Michelle, I got the same deal. At first I figured I could use the pad for something. But I just really did not like it and found it useless to me. I was able to return the pad to Walmart. Just FYI.
I am going to go to my local Walmart today and see if I can find some good deals. I will look for the sleeping bag but being in Florida I am doubtful it will be on the shelves. I am looking at buying it online though due to the small pack down size. I have a Big Agnes Mica synthetic bag right now I like it but it doesn't pack down very small and takes up way too much space in my pack. Other Walmart items I need to look for include braided line, and check for stakes as well. I plan to get a king size pillow (same one I love and use on my bed at home) and cut it in half and sew up the ends to make 2 small car camping versions. Should be easy to sew 2 straight lines lol. Maybe the sleeping bag will go on sale one day and make the decision to get one even easier.
