    ENO Slap Strap Pro

    Newbie here,

What do you guys think of ENO Slap Strap Pro? I might make my own, however if I find a good deal, I might buy them. I did order my tarp yesterday.

Go with the atlas straps. Their polyester so dont stretch. Just bought some for my wife and their only an extra five bucks.

Lots of negative expereinces with the Slap Straps. They are nylon and stretch a lot over time. As mentioned, go with the Atlas straps or just get some polyester webbing and cinch buckles from a vendor here.

I would recommend getting your straps from one of the fine cottage vendors on this site, such as whoopieslings.com . Not only are they lighter in weight, but they are less expensive.

    get something else

I would get something else. ENO one link user here. I just spent this weekend with slap straps. I started out Friday night about a 12' above a folding table I had by Sunday morning I was level with the table. I not impressed with the lack of adjustablity in the slap straps. You get the adjustability and lack of stretch but as Bubba says you can get get something better and cheaper from a vendor here than from ENO.

As mentioned above, if you're going with ENO, get the Atlas straps. They won't stretch and offer almost infinite adjust-ability. Another benefit is using one of the upper loops to tie a ridge line in, etc.

    Cheers,
    Matt

I liked the Slaps fine until I started using other methods and found I could fine-tune the flatness of the lay better. Moving the straps a couple inches up the tree after a couple days of rain was easy enough, though.

If you like straps then look at the Jacks r Better straps and buckles. Lighter, more infinite adjustments and they dont stretch. I took both pairs of slap straps back. Kept waking up with my butt on or near the ground. Oh and they cost less then atlas straps too!

Jack R Better, Arrowhead Equipment, Woopie slings etc, will be better made, probably cheaper and you will be supporting local cottage industry, it's a win win.
