I have a cuban tarp, with the ice it weigh a ton not a problem at home but in the field different story. It was a lot of ice! BTY my gear did awesome slept like a baby. Anytime I've had ice, just a quick shake usually frees it up. You may be left with a bit of frost so just pack away in it's bag and if you get a chance once the sun comes out, hang it out to dry.

If shaking won't get rid of it, a brush with a stiff brush will.

A plastic washing up brush goes with me if I'm likely to have heavy frost/ snow/ice. Stubborn ice is easily removed with the scraper edge at the front if the bristles won't shift it.

Fold neatly, place in container, cover with ice.

Wet or ice, just a good shaking goes a long way. I also carry a small piece of pack towel to wipe it down if necessary.

If for some reason it's really stuck on there, warm up some water, pour it on to melt it off, then shake the excess water off before it refreezes and your good to go.

You could spray it down with some Pam before you head out. Oh, wait... There isn't going to be any bears or mice around is there? That could be a problem.

My tarp has not froze yet, so I can't really help much, but I had not thought about a frozen tarp problem. Does cuben get brittle when frozen. Back in my ground dwelling days (not that long ago) if my tent froze, I would just beat on it till the snow and ice came off, but my tent was not cuben like my tarp.
