Hey, you all probably don't remember myself or my boyfriend, but on the last night of both of our's canyon trip we ran into y'all and one of you let me (stinky smelly me) try out one of your hammocks. Because of you guys and seeing that it could be done, probably more comfortably than our tent, we got a hammock!

P.S. My hammock survived the encounter with no ill effects...

Hiking the same area this September. Any thoughts on the night temperatures? I'm a very warm sleeper but my wife is not.

I know it's an old report but It was a excellent report A+. There are some rumblings around here among some family members about backpacking the canyon in summer of 2014. I was wondering how it was going with setting up the hammock stands at the campsites? I am very interested in hanging my hammock at the campsites for this trip, please keep me updated on the progress as I would like to leave my tent at home for this trip.

This trip made me a bit envious. I had seem a few of the pictures on Dejoha's FB page. If the Grand Canyon put in hang stands, I'd surely visit.

Work and all got in the way so no HF for about a month and the last two unread posts I saved... this trip report and next is Medicine Man's Pinhoti trail overnighter...
I loved this report. Great pics, superb preparation....lovely (and tasty?) fish...
No fisherman myself (yet?) but I like the simplicity of the Tenkara... gotta try that one day on decent fishing grounds.....
