Ive been lurking around here for sometime without actually introducing myself . I love the outdoors hunting, fishing, camping recently started hiking and joined the Sheltowee Trace Association a group that supports Kentuckys Long Trail.

We started a hiker challenge in Jan to hike the entire trail this year we average 25 miles a weekend once a month and I've met some other hammock hangers.

Learned a lot from reading tons of posts and bought a lot of gear from the vendors: hammock, tarp, underquilt, topquilt, suspension etc... I think most can relate to being bit by the bug always one more piece of gear you gotta have...still learning something every time I come here. Sorry for all the rambling. Happy hanging

Welcome, I work in Louisville and have read about the challenge longingly, but it just isn't a possibility at this point in my life. Between the family and scouts it seems like almost every weekend is booked.

The challenge started last year south to north and this year north to south there has been a huge turnout 52 for the first section. There's two groups team two hikes a week after team one. I put the link below if your interested we would love to have you no obligation to hike the whole trail. We are getting ready to hike through the Red River Gorge. So I expect it to be a annual thing.
