That's why I'm bringing my two sons in law they'll be carrying me when need be.

Another nice abbreviated hike option to get to Shelter 5, for a little longer hike is parking at the Group Campground along Kettle Moraine Drive. The trail starts there at the left of the entrance and is a grassy path marked appropriately.

    Re: Wisconsin Spring Hang?

I'm gonna have to pass on this one. I have to bend Q tips to make sure they fit my ears properly that weekend. :-)
I know you will have a great time!

It might be a good thing (if you have one) to bring a small lightweight folding camp stool. Shelter 5 can have firewood walked in but Shelter 4 is too far from parking, this leaves you to find some wrist sized stuff to bust up and use, but the fire area is to the side of the shelter and usually has little or no seating depending on if people burned up the logs often sat on.

Is there room enough for a ground dwelling friend of mine to join?

Edit: scratch that, he forgot this will be one of his work weekends.

Absolutely! It looks like we're at 5 on Friday night with you and your friend and 7 Saturday night. The permits allow us to go up to 10 at each shelter without any questions asked.
