Having moved to Eagle River many years ago from SE WI, I go back South as infrequently as possible. I don't want to hi-jack this thread, but am wondering if there is any interest among those of us who live in the Northern part of the State getting together for a Spring hang up North someplace?
Last hear we did a Spring hang in the Marathon County Forest just South of Wausau that had a nice turnout. I would actually selfishly propose a spot even further North this year, if there is any interest. Vilas County has a lot of public land with easy access and lakes and rivers to paddle or fish. If we do a hang in May, fishing season will be open.
Perhaps we should start a separate post, if there is any interest. PM me if you would like to talk further.

I started a separate thread for a Spring hang in N. WI, so as not to intrude further on this thread.
WI is big enough that I think we can do two Spring hangs without cutting into each other.
Good luck with your hang down South!
There's definitely room here for a few hangs with all the great places, question is.....which one do you attend?
Looks like I'm bringing my nephew along as a hammock newbie for this hang on Saturday also.
I'm out too. My Dad's 91st birthday. Have a great time!

Not sure if you guys have heard of it or not, but Buckhorn S.P. on Castle Rock Lake by Adams/ Friendship is also a great place and sort of in the middle too, lots of paddling and MOST sites are pack or paddle in only....
Just 2 cents....
