I'm running out of space to keep my down quilts, is it ok to store them uncompressed in a large tote fuffed up? The Rubbermaid kind? No room to hang them any more, as much as I enjoy looking at them hanging in my closet there is no room.

It's not the boulders that throw us off balance, it's the pebbles beneath our feet
Ditto. I store most of my bags and quilts in tupperware type plastic containers. I have not had any lofting issues. My rule of thumb, and this does not have any science to back it up, is that I don't compress them more than about 25% in order to fit them in a container.

Do you tub storer folks put any ventilation holes in the tubs? Does down get musty if left enclosed?

I have a GT UL hanging up a ceiling height in the basement, throw all my down in the hammock.

I think it would be ok as long as they can get totally fluffed up.
I store all my quilts in Ikea's storage case SKUBB , under our bed.
