Kite builder end caps for Bridge Hammock?

So, I was on the Kitebuilder.com site and I found these end caps:

What do you think about their use as end caps for spreader bars in a cord channel bridge hammock?

I'm not sure about the strength of ABS or UHMW (I think that's the material that Amsteel/Dynaglide are made of; UHMW). I'd worry about the torques; but they might work. What do you think?

Not sure about them, but I know of some that will work, on your hiking poles as well...
