I'm curious if any hangers have experimented with steel-cabled tarp ridgelines? There must be some way to rig up a strong and light steel cable that would deflect those falling branches? Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure that hasn't been discussed here on the forum before. What gauge/thickness of wire/cable do you have in mind?

I don't have the slightest clue. That's why I just threw it out there. I suppose it's possible, don't know about practical.

I hate that this happened--- I hate ice storms.
I miss some things about the midwest but ice storms are not one of them!
There was a bad one in the late 70s and I remember walking with my dad on a trail on our back acreage and seeing tree top after tree top hung up in the tops of other trees. It was a PAIN clearing all that up.

The Spaniards grew oranges for decades in Savannah Ga. Can't grow them North of Orlando now.

There's clear evidence that the Earth goes through climactic cycles.

There is incontrovertible evidence that Algore has a huge carcbon footprint, and has become very wealthy touting this nonsense.
were a couple hours north of orlando and there are oranges everywhere.
