hammock kit organiser from HH small fly

I have spare the original Hennessy Asym tarp as I use the HH Hex tarp for better coverage.
Question: Has anyone made this item into an external kit hammock/organiser?
I spent this weekend in a muddy English wood with rain and snow and I'm singularly unsuccessful in organising my gear on the ground without it gettinf filthy.
Lying inmy hammock last night I thought as a poor DIYer could i make the original HH fly into a kit hammock/organiser and couldn't see how but I thought someone hear might have pointers for doing so.

You could definitely use that tarp as a gear hammock to suspend items under your hammock. I would suggest cutting it down quite a bit, as there would be alot of excess fabric. Although, a quick trip to your local fabric store to pick up a few yards of ripstop nylon would do the same job, and you could keep the HH fly as a backup.

+1 on lilricky. You would be better off buying a yard of material and making a small hammock. If you go about it right it can double as a sling chair. Sell the tarp if you need the money. ;-)

Another option...which I use...if you have a pack cover it is easy to attach a line at each end and hang it under your main hammock.
I use two little beads and some mason line.
