Florida was well represented. emcee got to see the seasons change in middle TN. He saw a wide swing in temps from rainy/snow in the 20's to sunny and 60's.

Scott and I had a great time at Savage Gulf. It was neat to meet so many great folks, eat some really good food, share some spectacular scenery, and be out in a beautiful location. Thanks to Hangnout for loaning Scott some gear to make it possible. Thanks to ftroop for taking the lead on this one. Thanks to everyone who contributed to breakfast. I'm sorry that we didn't get to make the rest of the loop, but duty called. Looking forward to more hikes and hangs with you all in the near future. Savage Gulf is great place for hanging. Looking forward to MedicineMan feeling 100% once again and posting his pics and video from this trip. A great time all the way around.

    Dang it!

Good looking group of hangers! Wish I could have followed your route and tagged along. As told we went the opposite route, with an easy first day hike in to Stage Coach, I think 6ish miles. Saturday was an early departure for Sawmill, setup camp and day hike Stone Door, lunch at the top, back to sawmill, 11ish miles, Sunday, it was a Hobb's Summit, and hike out to the ranger station campsite, (we were advised of really bad weather late Sunday nite and Monday), 12ish miles by our route. I proudly kept up and sometimes left these 20something Everest base campers behind. Took great pride in that, hardly able to move now! I think they have faster recovery.

next year, I am making the group hang.

Man was it a blustery weekend!

Best part was picking up my new hiking buddy from Bogan Mtn in Cedar Bluff, Al on the way home. A spry female German Shorthair Pointer puppy, her name is Brook, after one of my most favorite trout.

...pulled a tick off! From March? Check yourselves!
Afoot and light-hearted, I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me, leading wherever I choose.

Sorry I'm late, been down for the last 36 hours.
Let this vid tell you NOT to purchase Adobe Premier Elements 11. I move up from AVS, mistake....but it is what it is, tried to render 5 times, finaly worn out from it, you'll see the anomalies in it and the lost audio, major arrrggg:

Separate slide show vid will be up in a bit.

    Savage pics.....

and MAD777, we used the WindproII the whole trip but I forgot to video It was perfect for three-Neutron carried the pot, I carried the burner, and Poof carried the canister....the pot was 1.8 liter.
Because of our SLOW hiking pace Poof and I were always last/late/very late in getting to camp and because of this we didn't get to meet/socialize like we would have wanted too.
So many good people on this hike!

I always pic a piece of gear that did well (or not), the hypoallergenic down is truly a winner and the AirShip gave me two nights with abs. no condensation. I think HNO has perfected the concept (until I ripped a small portion near the hood but luckily wont affect performance.

Here are the pics from the trip:

Also want to give a big thanks to any and all who helped Neutron, he had a rough go of it.
