The hard way to an easy hang

Out to a spot about 5 miles in and and 40 stream jumps.

Here is a video of some of the fun:

Weather cleared up just in time for the trip

Calafia doing a little trail maintenance

    Chossy.

Using the Boy Scout method, we collected all of our water drop-by drop by using bandanas and wringing them out

Trail was wet but was a beautiful day to be outside

    "Blue Steel"

    "Magnum"

    This way!

Since our last visit a few months ago, lot of trees and overgrowth blocked our path

    War Zone

We had to scurry up this little hill to get back on the trail after following the stream around blockages. Would not be the first time.

    Hydrate

Like I said, trail was overgrown since our last visit

But some parts of the trial were grassy and slippery

Our camp is "that way, and then back more"... more bushwackin'

    Where's Waldo?

    The path to Heaven

    Wearing just about all wool

    Waterfall > Pool > Waterfall

    A very rare left-handed axe

    Best Made

    Calafia's setup

    "Permission to enter cammm.... Nevermind!!!"

High pressure moved in and wind was calm. Barometric pressure was holding around 1031mb.

    Orion

This is my safe queen with a newly added maple burl handle for the ferro rod

No tarp for me on a clear night!

We fixed up a hasty willow grill for the steak

First trip in months without snow, had to bring the sandals.

Fire sprites were restless throughout the night

    Whisky, water, repeat

Coffee and bacon. Quiet morning. Overnight low of 38*

Resting up before the hike out

    The trail begins

    Zig-zagged

Looks like a great time. Some Jameson's and Bushcraft, does it get any better?

    Thanks for taking us along.

ripcurlksm, impressive scenery and spectacular images. Could I ask what you use for a camera? I have a large DSLR but would like to find something more compact for the trail.

    Thanks

Canon S100. Shoots RAW and has full manual controls for ~$250. I carry 4 batteries as it eats them up quick.
