my ridge line is 30' and i think a lot of folks use about that length.

This is a great length. I would suggest no shorter. Mine is 25 ft and it's juuuust that short.

Got it cut @ 30', added the flyz and buried the ends. Now to get some dutch hooks to add them on a continuous loop.

Almost, just looking forward to the hammock to get here now ;-).
