    Tarp design

Ok so I'm new! And I have my hammock all modified like I like it and I'm looking for a tarp but there is no way I'm shelling out that much money for a tarp as little as I camp( for now ). So I'm going to make myself one! Anybody got any tips? I'm gonna make it from nylon and waterproof it. Hex or diamond? Which is better.
Ps my hammock is a grand trunk SBP so it's about ten and a half feet long!
I would really appreciate some help!

While you're at DIY Gear looking at the plans, order the 70D coated or 1.1 Silnylon 2nds and save yourself the trouble of waterproofing. Both cost less than regular priced nylon at Joann's or Hancock's.

+1 on DIY Gear Supply plans and supplies (backwoods Daydreamer). I made 2 tarps out of his SilNylon 2nds and they both have been great (winter tarp only has one night used so far) I need to add more photos now that I added the pullouts and have fine tuned my doors.

Others have used PolyCryo (window shrink film) and Tyvek (house wrap) to make tarps on the cheap. I am planning on making a couple style tarps with one of these materials for the short term. That will give me a chance to decide what design I like the best before spending on silnylon for my permanent DIY tarp.
