Zing-it - What diameter recommended?

I have built about 5 hammocks so far, and went with whoopie slings on the majority of them, but the one area that I went cheap on was the ridgeline. I simply grab my 100' of 550, and added ridgelines.

Now, I am looking at creating a uniform fixed ridgeline and have been looking at supporting ReddenMarine and their discount they give us on Amsteel. I see two diameters of Zing-it offered... so hammockforum, what do you recommend:

1.75 or 2.2?

or, do you recommend another line (although I like the yellow color of Zing-it, and struggled to find other tech lines)

Hey Sam! I would think that the 1.75mm zing-it would be more than strong enough for your fixed ridgelines. While I haven't personally used that specific cord for ridgelines, I do find DIY Gear Supply's 1.9mm dyneema "tech line" to be more than suitable for that purpose. Link here. Hope this helps!

I used to use 2.2 mm Zing-It but have now converted to 1.75. You might have to put an extra wrap on your prusiks though.

I'm using 1.75mm Zing-it and 1.2mm tech line from DIY Gear Supply.

I use the 1.75 for both my hammock ridge line and my tarp ridge and guys. Just finished another hammock the other day. Started with 7/64 amsteel for the ridgeline, because I had a piece close enough to test. Switched it out with the 1.75 and it's now ready to go........RR

I plan to stick with the 2.2mm to better accomodate prusiks with 1.75mm. Additionally, I can hardly see the 1.75mm. I would likely hurt myself somehow with a 1.75mm, nearly invisible, ridgeline.

I use 1.75 Lash-It (gray version of Zing-It) for my ridgelines and have had zero problems thus far. I don't count on them being structural either though, so bear that in mind. I believe that they could withstand more tension then I typically place on them, I prefer to use the ridgeline as a guide letting it be loose enough to twist when the hammock is loaded.
