Sucks about the UQ's, I was gonna mention those since you've been pretty adamant about sleeping pads. You gonna get different UQ's or go back to pads?

i am going to try a full length under quilt before i completely give up lol

You know, something to consider (since I think I read that hammock was like, 8ft or just shy of?) it can be more difficult to get a good seal and fit with a shorter hammock since the angles are sharper and shorter. I had an interesting time dialing in my ENO dbl with my Incubator because of this. Once I had it set, it was money, but there was definitely a fidget curve I had to go through at home before hitting the trail with it.
