Hey out there, Any of you guys have some recommended spots to backpack on the Ozark Highlands Trail in Arkansas?

    Tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

Most any section on this trail you can't go wrong. I guess some of my favorite sections are White Rock Mountain area, and before and after Haw creek Falls which is between Ozone and fairview. Here is a video from Fairview to Haw creek..

I saw a picture of Haw Creek Falls and I'd love to stop there on my trip. What is the closest trail head to there?

Also, sorry for hijacking this thread

Haw creek Falls, is in a big camp area know as Haw creek Falls Campgrounds. I'm not sure if they opened it back up to the public. It was closed I believe for awhile.
Fort Douglas is the actual Trail head in this area on Hwy 23.

Before and after Haw Creek Falls. Section 5 I think. Hands down my favorite section of the OHT. If you haven't visited Haw Creek Falls, you are truly missing out on an incredible place. Camping is open to the public. That is my goto Car Camping spot with tons of day hikes around. Usually though, if car camping, I tend to setup a hammock down near the falls and just chillax, recharge, and enjoy it.

from looking at the website for the OHT I thought there weren't any established campgrounds? I thought it was just camp anywhere along the trail as long as you're 200 ft from the trail or water and out of sight?

OHT goes right through the middle of the Haw Creek Falls campground.
