Eno Guardian Bugnet with 11 ft DIY gathered end hammock

I've put up a bunch of posts about making a bugnet and have even bought some material to do it, but it turns out I'm completely out of time for this hiking trip. It looks like Eno Guardian Bugnet will work for me but I'm hesitant due to the shortish length of 9-4". I set my sructural ridgeline no longer than 109 inches so it seems that a 9-4" bugnet would work. I know the guardian ridgeline attach points are a little wierd but I figure I can live with that for one time use. I'm most concerned about the length. Can anyone with real world experience with a guardian and an 11 foot hammock say if it works OKAY or NOT OKAY. My youngster has an ENO hammock so after this one time use I can pass it on to her.

Before I got a Fronkey style bug net from OxGear I used the Eno Guardian with my BIAS WWM which is 11'. The bug net will work on the longer hammock but there will be about 10" of hammock coming out the ends. This didn't cause a problem but I did switch to a longer lighter net system.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

yeah .... that's why I posted this. I don't trust the dimensions ENO gives. 9'-4" is 112 inches and with the ridgeline set at 109 inches on my DIY hammock it should just fit. But I've read other people's posts that say an 11 footer ends up sticking out of both ends .... is the 9'-4" dimension eno uses for the length of the guardian incorrect?

Dimensions are correct for an ENO hammock, not an 11 ft. hammock. I use the BIAS Buginator or NanoBuginator for 11 ft. hammocks.

True, the guardian is intended for an ENO hammock, but 9'-4" is 9-4 no matter what hammock you try to stick inside of it. 9'-4" end to end should fit a DIY hammock with 2 inches of clearance on either end if you set the ridgeline at 109"... I'm pretty up to speed on the good alternatives are but I don't have time to order or make something....

I used this setup last weekend, diy tc 11 ft w/ eno buginator.

There is an adjustable ridgeline on the hammock but I don't know the length.

The ends of the hammock stuck out a bit, but I just cinched the end closures of the net around them, no worries.

I inverted the net so I could clip the but net to the ridgeline of the hammock and skip using the ridgeline that came with the hammock.

    Everything worked just fine.

The problem with 2 inches of clearance is that you may have an issue getting a good diagonal lay without ripping the net (been there, done that). The slightest kick or flopping around could rip it.

    Just be very careful.

Ratdog, Thanks for your info also. Some people say it works fine and some say it doesn't. I don't really know what to make of it. I wish I hadn't waited so long to do something about my bug net ... options are very limited days before the hike. Its been really buggy here due to all the rain. Normally I'd just go without and not worry about it.

If your youngster has an ENO hammock can you borrow that?
