    Trap Hills Section

Hi! Just dropping a note to say that I interpret Old Victoria on the East part of the Trap Hills (right next to a lovely NCT shelter) in the Peter Wolfe Chapter of the NCT . . . and I am up there alongside the trail all summer. . . if you need a supply drop arranged here I would be happy to accommodate your needs, just drop me a line!

I'm 90% you need reservations for the Pictured Rocks NL area of the NCT. You may want to consider putting in for them soon.

If you have the time stop at masse homestead.Go to the indiviual sites climb the hill in behind ,you will be on top of the dunes. The view is worth the climb. If no one is there throw your pack in the bear box. Steep hill to carry your pack up and back down.
On the 6th I start my hike from Munising going west. Going around Lake Superior. Looking forward to the SHT in MN. Then take the ferry to Isle Royale. Going to come back to Copper Harbor. I just don't if there are any trails to Houghon. Bike trail maybe?

Totally off topic, but I saw your user name, are you a student at Central Michigan?

No on cmu. Got to Rockland today, Peppermill Lodging 3bedroom trailer 30.00 a night. About the maps you can get from Garlic Falls to the trail private land. Next north of Silver Lake Basin half mile of trial not marked in any way, nothing. Get a hold of marquette chapter she will tell you how to get through them. The west side of Craig Lake now goes west to a new shelter. I did not make it snowed out just saw a map. Next going west from hwy41 you leave from Canyon Falls rest area. Have a good hike,no bugs yet

    Enjoy the hike.

    1. You will need reservations at Pictured Rocks. They go fast and are not cheap anymore.

    2. My wife is from the UP so I've been hiking up there for about 15 years. Take people's advice about getting some local resupple and offers to help. It's not the AT. Sometimes getting to resupply will be difficult, as in not very close to the trail. The trail goes from very rugged, to sharing it with ORV (read torn up and in the UP that often means lose sand), to sections (like the Pictured Rocks area) where it's a backpackers highway.

    3. Black flies and biting sand flies will be your worst problems (not to be laughed at they can drive you crazy.) Having said that, this is black bear country and they will be all over that trail so be smart about food.

Just learning my way around the forums and realized that I responded to an old post.

Now I wonder how the trip went? Did it go?

Thank you. My wife's family is in Engadine. Where are you? (If you don't mind me asking.)
There is no such thing as Good Weather and Bad Weather. It's all just weather, sometimes it's just a little more weathery than others.
