The two JCP Puffers were on clearance for $14 each plus tax and a spool of thread was $1.29 plus tax. So around $ 33 all in.

It did take several hours labor between the two of us ripping out seams, but it was fun!

Tough to say which is more awesome, that wonderful UQ or spending all that time with your sis. Very nice to each!

Thanks to my dear big sister I now have a DIY quilt. I guess technically its a let your big sister do it project.

It is made from two 4xl JCP Puffer jackets. We used all but two of the black sleeves.

I am 6ft tall and hate to be short quilted, so this one is 7ft long x 46in wide. Including the stuff sack it weighed in at 20 oz.

I not only got a cheap top quilt, but got to spend quality time with my awesome sister!

We have named it "The Kermit!"
Hey flight chick, I know this thread is not new, but we are now DIYing our JCP puffers and I saw your quilt. It looks awesome!!! I was wondering if you could give some details such as:
Do you have a snap or tie foot box I am not seeing?
What temps have you been comfortable in with the single layer?
If you did things now after having it for a bit, is there anything you would change?

    Thanks

I still love my TQ! It's only proven to be good down to 50*. It is strictly a quilt and there is no foot box. I don't like being inside of a bag, so for me it's perfect. I can't think of anything I would change. I just wish I had more of the puffer jackets, so I could make another one. Have fun with making yours!
