    Boykin Springs- Zavalla, TX

Had a chance to get out this last weekend and get an overnighter in.
Hairsmith and Jeff488 set up a trip out to Boykin Spings in Zavalla TX just outside of Jasper.
I headed out sat. morning and arrived around 1200. I set up camp and went on the short hike to the Old Aldridge Saw Mill ruins. It was first built back in 1898. It's quite a site walking up on it in the piney woods. I had a look around and headed back into camp where I met up with Hairsmith, Jeff488, Dutch, ( not the hammock worlds Dutch, but a very kind ground dweller ) and Rich. We sat around, had some dinner and conversed amongst each other. We chatted and fiddle with fire till it was time to retire to our choice of sleeping. All slept well, except for Dutch who was rumor to be up searching the web of hammock choices. )
Morning came, breakfast was had, packing up and goodbyes were said.
Thanks to Hairsmith and Jeff488 who let me tag along there trip. Great group of folks.

Here's of bit of the trip. Not great quality but it was all done with my iphone.

Thanks Sarge. It was my first try at it. It can only get better from here.

Seriously, dude. That was pretty dang good. I can only hope to do half as good when I finally get up the nerve to give it a shot. What software are you using?

You crazy kids with all your new fangled de-vices.

When I was a kid we had to make our movies with a pad of paper and a pencil.

easttex nice to meet you and WOW what a great video !!

Jeff488, Dutch and I head out for some back roads, and the other guys pound some pavement on the way to Boykin Springs.

We stop at a nice place on the way.

After making it to a little known trail on the Texas Louisiana border we stop for Jeff488 who was catching up after locating parts of Dutches bike.

Was not long untill I was the one calling a halt to the ride.

Well after that repair, I will be riding the rest of the weekend with no rear brake.

I had a nice Route planed to Boyken springs that took us over some of the worst roads I know in East Texas, and I know lots of bad roads. Boykin springs is about 65 miles from Nacogdoches, we arived there having riden just over 150 miles.
We arive and start setting up camp.

Jeff488's ridge runner and Rich a ground dweller,,,,, yes that tent is that small

While Dutch sets up camp some of the other kindle a fire.
