    Hello from Georgia

I have finally gotten around to joining HF after checking out posts for the past year or two. I bought my wife an ENO Doublenest about two years ago. Prior to that, all camping was done on the ground, in a tent. I tried hammock camping on a backpacking trip I did last year with some friends. It was the first trip for me, but an annual one for some of the guys. Most of them were into hammock camping. I used the standard slap straps (stretchy), bought the ENO bugnet, and I used a Eureka Timberline rainfly for my tarp.

I was surprised how comfortable it was and how much better my back felt the next morning, even though we were doing a 16 mile hike.

Fast forward to this year, and we're getting ready to go again. Still using the doublnest, but I have a better tarp. I haven't gotten the new suspension yet, but may end up doing that.

Anyway, glad to be here, thanks for having me.

    Aurelius

Welcome to the forums. I'm just up the road a bit in Buford. As I'm sure you're aware of, there are a lot of great folks in the forum that have a ton of experience to share.

Welcome to HF from Athens. Give the Atlas Straps a try, no stretch to them.

I actually live in Duluth, but I figured most people wouldn't know where that is. I'm off the exit where Bass Pro is.

I bought the Atlas Straps for my sons Hennessy Scout (he's 12), and we put some carabiners on it too. I do like how they do not stretch very much. I got the slap straps at REI, so I think I will take them back and exchange for the Atlas.

    Thanks!
