Great report & pics. Thanks for sharing.

You talked about pack weight. It looks like you have the ILBE pack. I have one. I really like it, and it is built like a tank, but it is almost 10 lbs before you load the first item into it. I had to find another pack to shave some weight myself, but I am old and fat too. I'll let you younger guys carry the heavier bag!

Again, nice report. I enjoyed it!

Hey, I think I recognize your pack in this pic . . .
You talked about pack weight. It looks like you have the ILBE pack. I have one. I really like it, and it is built like a tank, but it is almost 10 lbs before you load the first item into it. Yea, it's the ILBE... It's a great pack and built like a tank for sure!! Too bad it also weighs as much as one!! It served me pretty well since I was also carrying guns and ammo on top of regular gear. I'm seriously looking at getting a ULA Circuit for my not so explodey oriented trips

I am guessing your firearms were hand guns ? If not and you we toting a rifle how did you deal with it to keep it out of the weather. That is just somthing I have though of, keeping them safe from weather and 2 legged critters.
I had a Glock 17 and an AR-15. They tend to do pretty good in bad weather so I just left them on my groundsheet for most of the time. I still haven't gotten around to wiping them down yet and they're doing just fine. I've come to trust my firearms in all sorts of less than ideal conditions.

..how was the condensation for your down?
The down held up really well... It was starting to lose some of it's loft by the end of the trip but that might be more my fault... I didn't have to deal with much condensation inside the superfly. I tried to be religious about keeping it out of the precipitation and the DWR coating on them helped where I messed up...

    I like the attitude!
    Looks like fun!
Looks like a memorable trip to me...
Looks like a great trip! Nice setup!
Looks like a nice sight to spend time.
    saaaweeeeet!!!! love them pics!!
    Looks like an amazing outing!!
    Congrats on a successful solo!!
    Great report & pics.
Thanks!! It wasn't actually a solo, there were some other good guys with me. But being a natural loner I kind of set up away from everyone else for my own personal time and space. I was the only one in a hammock for the trip, though after seeing it in action two of the guys are seriously thinking about hammocking. One of the guys already bought himself an Eno and some whoopies!!

I love breakfast from the hammock too! It's a glorious thing!
Yeah Feller......ain't the "breakfast from the hammock" a glorious thing?))))
*sings* "Breakfast! From the Hammock!! What a wonderfulllll thinggg!!!!! Yea!!!"

Great report and nice gear.... nothing worse than the predawn conflict between bladder pressure and staying warm. Thanks for sharing the trip.

Great trip report. Thanks for sharing.
I noticed something missing from your setup that will improve your hang quite a bit. A weather shield and / or a sock.
    Best of wishes,
    Blaze

I've been back and forth on justifying the weight of one... Though this trip was exactly the kind of situation where it would have shined...

I've only done a small amount of geocaching... It's definitely something I've been interested in though... Combining it with some sweet sweet hammock time would just be awesome!!!
