In that set up there really isn't a V. The hook wind up tight to the tree. There is a V on the other end because of the wasp. If you want a V on the hook end you need a prussic and attach the hook to the prussic

Sorry, but that doesn't register on my list of things to worry about.
Yeah, that's what it does as far as I understand it. If the hammock rocks the suspension hits the RL and messes with the tarp. I'm trying to get my head wrapped around this stuff. What do you do that your hammock doesn't rub on your RL?

I agree, there is no real need for the triangle, IMO just a waste of time to worry about it!,, if it really matters to you then i suggest switching to stingerz but you allready ordered a sweet set up that will work just fine.

I came looking for this, was not disappointed.

Also nice to know a length of ridgeline that you guys carry. I've been packing 25' and once or twice it's been at the limit...

Ok, thanks Dutch and everybody! I won't worry about the V! Real cool stuff.

What do I care if the hammock suspension rubs the tarp ridgeline? Why would I worry? I've heard some bizarre theories on why people think it's an issue:

    1) It abrades the line - Yeah, that's a serious concern for me. On a scale of 1-100 (100 being most concerning), this registers about a 2 on my scale.
    2) The ridgelines rubbing against each other are loud - Yeah, about as loud as two earthworms making passionate love.

As far as I'm concerned, it's all incidental contact. The only time any of this would concern me is if I was hanging in a hurricane, and I'd have a lot more problems than hammock ridgeline rubbing against tarp ridgeline.

It is 30 feet long. Longer if you ask.

If you by chance put your RL under the tarp,,you can also hang small things off it such as a Dutch light. Use your imagination on that. I really like the continuous RL so you can slide the tarp to fit your hammock. Easy peasy. Dutch bling makes it really super easy and quick to hang as well.

I used to have 30' ridgelines, but came up short a few times. I've yet to come up short with a 35' ridgeline.

As far as ridgeline length goes 30' is plenty. I always bring an extender that I use as a pack hanger. It has a locked brummel on either end that I use a larks head to attach to the adjustable end.
