    Re: HH Suspension Favorites

I like my setup pretty well... replaced stock rope with dog bones and use biners to connect them to python straps. I've converted all my hammocks this way so I can use my python straps on any hammock. Also, I like that I don't have to deal with the whoopies or stock rope tangling anything up while packing/unpacking the hammock. The dog bones only extend about 6 inches from the end of the hammock.

This is about the best pic I have of the setup. Sorry, not very detailed.

For everyone who is using whoopie slings how have you all been liking them? I've read a few problems with the ridgeline but I'm not sure how many are having them. I've been wanting to change my HH over too this so I'm a bit concerned.

What are the RL problems? I've had whoopies on my suspension and really like the ease of adjustment - not aware of any problems...

I prefer the whoopies to the original suspension and have had no problems at with the RL or anything else.

I've heard that a few people have had problems with their ridge line being slack after they switch to whoopies. I'm not sure how often the claims arise but I've read a few people have had it happen.

I've not experienced this problem... not sure I understand how you can change the stock RL by swapping supensions. My RL loops are still attached via continuous loops the same way they were attached with the stock suspension, and didn't change the length by any measurable amount.

+1 to this. I reattached my ridgeline the exact same way that it had been attached to the stock rope.

No change in the ridgeline at all that I could notice.

My only "complaint" about whoopies is that you'll find that you need to allow another foot more on either end between trees when you're selecting a site to hang.
