Just got my hennessy in today! Very comfortable. I used the stock set-up and it wasnt as hard as I thought it might be but I do need some practice setting it up!

Like the biners and rings! I also use whoopies on my clark, but am considering trying the biners and rings on it as well.

That's what I bought before my hammock even showed up. 4 descending rings and 2 carabiners. But mine were from MEC in Canada. I love it!

I'll probably use that for my rain fly as well (though not climbing rated rings and biners because it's just not needed).

I also hooked on shock cords to my rain fly.

I have read a few post about the binder/ring set up and using a garda hitch that the pinch of the rope between the rings can destroy the rope itself. Any thoughts about that?

I heard that as well. But I also heard that it doesn't for a lot of people...

I can't say from experience that it won't, because I haven't had it set up under duress long enough, but one note: You can go the garda hitch with one, or more loops through the ring. I would suggest at least two because that will help distribute the load slightly. But will the physical pinching ruin it? Some say yes, some say no. I'll be sure to post my results if there are any issues.

I might give it a try once I get sick of the stock set-up. I dont mind the lashing its just a pain to re adjust. If I dont go biner/ring i'll do whoopies and the marlin spike hitch!

Interesting to hear that so many are using biners and rings. I thought I was the only one who didn't switch to whoopies.

Biners and rings here also, makes setup a breeze and handles 270# with ease..

I scored a EXP UL in Oct, hung stock several times and then installed continuous loops larks headed to whoopies, stock tree straps with Dutch clips, yes the 2" straps work for me.

Like it, but it's not nearly as comfortable as my Miskito Hammock and the Hennessy is significantly heavier.
