In fact even so I keep a pair of needle nose pliers beside the thread injector so I can grab those crosswise pins when they get under the presser foot.
My experience also---crosswise pins keep the sil-slippage under control much better than in-line pins.

I'm already wearing specs and have blown right over those pins.

Did bend a needle once though with a direct hit. That was a drag.

Dulling the needle through grazing shots is something I'd hadn't considered though. RamblinRev has shown me the light, the true path. I'll yank those pins just before they go over the dogs, really I will.

What size needles do you use when sewing into Momentum? Also, what size pins do people use to keep the material in-place? I've got a little project I'm going to start on soon and any info would be a help. thanks!

I'm not quite such a thread injector junkie that I know the actual needle size, but it was one of the thinner ones for Singers that I used. Same one I use for normal ripstop. I just used plain old pins to hold the fabric in place. It really is a nice material to work with and I don't think you'll have any problems.

I used my regular # 8 sewing machine needle and regular pins. No problems.
